Breek Arms Sledgehammer AR-15 Ambi Charging Handle – Gray

Description

Anyone who has run a suppressed AR-15 knows the deal: that puff of gas that finds its way back to your face after every shot. The Breek Arms Sledgehammer was built specifically to deal with that. It's an ambidextrous charging handle for AR-15 and M16 platforms, machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with a Type III hardcoat anodize, so it holds up to rough handling and years of range time without complaint. In gray, it also adds a nice bit of contrast to a build without shouting for attention.

What Makes the Sledgehammer a Real Gas Buster

The gas mitigation on this handle isn't a single gimmick, it's a stack of features working together. There's a raised rear shelf that blocks gas coming off the back of the upper, a keyway cut that stops gas from spilling over that shelf, and internal baffling inside the stem that creates turbulence to slow down gas expansion. Add in a ported back pressure hole and relief cuts on the top and bottom of the stem, and the gas gets steered out to the sides instead of straight into your eyes. For anyone shooting cans, this is one of the better setups you'll find at this level.

Latches Built for Real-World Manipulation

The wide, serrated latches are the other half of the story. They give you a big, grippy footprint that's easy to grab from either side, which matters whether you shoot lefty, righty, or you're just trying to get a solid pull with gloves on in the cold. The serrations dig in so your fingers don't slip, and the latch shape stays low profile enough that it doesn't snag on gear.

Installation is straightforward and drops right into any mil-spec AR-15 or M16 upper. At right around an ounce, it won't throw off the balance of your rifle either. It's a simple, affordable upgrade that punches well above its weight, especially if suppressed shooting is part of your routine.
