This is the AR-10 / LR-308 version of Breek's popular gas-blocking design, and it packs in more gas mitigation than just about anything else in its class. The whole thing is CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and wears a Type III hard-coat anodized finish in gray, so it holds up to hard use and stays looking sharp.

What Makes the Sledgehammer Different

Gas control is the whole point here. The Sledgehammer uses a higher raised shelf at the rear of the upper to block blowback, an innovative keyway cutout that stops gas from creeping over that shelf, internal baffling inside the stem to slow expanding gas, and a back pressure port with relief cuts on the top and bottom that steer gases sideways. Stack all that together and you get a noticeably cleaner shooting experience, which is why folks running suppressors gravitate to it. Even on a plain overgassed rifle it takes the edge off.
