BPG builds these from aerospace-grade flame-resistant materials rated up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, with a two-part design that pairs the outer cover with a replaceable inner FR sleeve. When the sleeve eventually shows wear from heat cycles, you swap it instead of replacing the whole cover, which stretches the life of the thing considerably. The patented no-slip fit is the other piece of the puzzle. The cover runs about a half inch longer than the can itself so it cinches down at both the front and rear, and once it is snugged up properly it stays put through recoil and rapid strings instead of creeping toward the muzzle. They do, just slower than a centerfire can. Run a few magazines of .22 back to back and that small tube holds heat for a surprisingly long time. A cover lets you swap the can between hosts, drop it in a bag, or hand it to a buddy without waiting around for it to cool.
No. The patented no-slip fit cinches around both the front and rear of the suppressor, and once it is installed correctly it stays in place through rapid fire. If a BPG cover creeps forward, that is a sign it was not cinched down properly.
That is the beauty of the two-part design. The inner fire-resistant sleeving is a replaceable component, so when it eventually shows wear from repeated heat cycles you swap in a fresh sleeve instead of buying a whole new cover. It keeps one cover running for years.
