Description

A hot suppressor will chew through pant legs, sling webbing, and rifle bags without a second thought, and it only takes one careless grab to remind you why covers exist. Burn Proof Gear built this one specifically for 1.6 inch diameter cans like the Otter Creek Labs Polonium 30 and the Noah, sizing the cover at 6.5 inches so it runs a half inch past the suppressor body and cinches down at both ends. That extra length is what makes their no-slip fit work, and it means the cover stays planted through rapid strings instead of creeping toward your muzzle.

What Goes Into the Polonium/Noah Cover

This is a two-piece system. The outer shell is DuPont Kevlar diamond weave ripstop in black, rated for 1000F sustained and 1500F at peak. Underneath sits a fiberglass mesh sleeve that handles up to 2000F and takes the direct contact with the suppressor tube. Together they add only about a quarter inch to the overall diameter, so you keep a slim profile that still clears most handguards and rifle cases. With a single FR sleeve installed, the setup is built to handle roughly 90 rounds of full-auto fire before it needs a full cooldown, which is more abuse than most range days will ever dish out. Everything is made in the USA.

Why Run a BPG Cover on Your Polonium or Noah

Beyond saving your hands and gear, there is a real shooting benefit here. Suppressors throw off heat mirage as they warm up, and that shimmer sits right in your sight picture on a low-mounted optic or magnified glass. A cover knocks that down noticeably, which matters for precision work and follow-up shots. It also helps tame the IR glow of a hot can if you shoot under night vision.

One fitment note worth mentioning: measure your suppressor with the muzzle device and end cap installed, since mounting hardware can add length and change how the cover sits. If your can measures around 6 inches long and 1.6 inches across, this is the size you want.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this Burn Proof Gear cover fit suppressors other than the Polonium or Noah?

Yes. While it was sized around the Otter Creek Labs Polonium 30 and the Noah, it will work on any suppressor with a 1.6 inch diameter and a body length around 6 inches. Measure your can with the muzzle device and end cap installed, since mounting hardware can add length and affect how the cover cinches down.

How much heat can the Polonium/Noah 6.5×1.6 cover handle?

The Kevlar outer shell is rated for 1000F sustained and 1500F max, and the fiberglass inner sleeve handles up to 2000F. With a single FR sleeve, the cover is built to take about 90 rounds of full-auto fire before it needs to cool completely. For semi-auto range sessions, that's plenty of headroom.

Will the cover slide around or walk forward during firing?

No. Burn Proof Gear cuts their covers a half inch longer than the suppressor so the ends cinch around the front and rear of the can, which is what they call their no-slip fit. Once it's snugged down properly, it stays put through rapid fire and hard handling.

Does a suppressor cover like this affect accuracy?

If anything, it helps. Hot suppressors create heat mirage that shimmers right through your sight picture, and this cover cuts that down significantly. It adds only about a quarter inch of diameter and just a few ounces of weight, so any effect on handling is minimal.
