Anyone who has run a suppressed SBR hard or dumped a few mags through a quad rail knows how fast a handguard turns into a stovetop. The Burn Proof Gear Rail-Rap Heavy in MultiCam is built to fix that. It is sized for larger diameter handguards, think Daniel Defense MK18 style quad rails, the Sig Spear LT and similar, fitting rails roughly 1.75 to 2.25 inches in diameter depending on shape. The panels measure 6 inches long by 3 inches wide and cover about 6 inches of circumference while leaving the top Picatinny rail open for your optic, laser or front sight.
This is not a chunk of foam with hook and loop. Burn Proof Gear builds these from Berry Compliant fabrics sewn with DuPont Kevlar TEX-80 thread, and the whole thing laces onto your rail with their proprietary Kevlar bungee cord rated to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. That lacing system is the quiet hero here. It cinches down tight so the wrap does not shift under recoil, and the exposed cord runs double as cable management for light and laser wires, keeping switches routed clean instead of flopping around. You also get a consistent hand positioning reference, a softer contact point when you rest the rifle on a barricade or hood, and less heat mirage cooking off the handguard into your optic during long strings.
While the Heavy is made for fat rails, it pulls double duty on slim M-LOK and KeyMod handguards too. On those skinnier tubes it wraps the whole thing, top rail included, which is handy on a dedicated truck gun or trainer where nothing lives up top forward of the receiver. If you run a slimmer rail and want the top Picatinny left open, the standard Rail-Rap is the better pick.

On slimmer M-LOK or KeyMod rails, the extra width wraps the whole handguard, top rail included. If you want the top rail left open on a slim handguard, go with the standard Rail-Rap instead.
The top Picatinny stays open on larger rails, so optics, lasers and front sights are unaffected. You will lose direct access to the covered side and bottom sections where the wrap sits, so plan your light and pressure switch placement accordingly. The Kevlar bungee lacing doubles as cable management, which makes routing switch wires cleaner than most bare rail setups.

No, the bungee cord lacing cinches the panels down tight against the handguard, so it stays put through recoil, movement and barricade work. It also gives you a consistent index point for your support hand, which a lot of people end up liking as much as the heat protection. If it ever loosens over time you can simply re-tension the cord.
