It's the same fast pull-through system Hoppe's has been known for, now packaged in a compact carrying case that keeps everything together in your range bag or truck box.
The magic is in the one-pass design. A weighted cord leads the way through the barrel, a cone-shaped bore guide helps it feed in smooth, and the integrated bronze brush scrubs out carbon and powder fouling as it goes. Behind the brush, the long cleaning tail sweeps out the loosened debris with a surface area roughly 160 times bigger than a standard patch. The Viper version steps things up with about 50 percent more brush cleaning power than the original BoreSnake, so you're getting more scrub per pull.
The Den is really the headline here. The lid pops off and turns into a pull handle, and it snaps right back into the clear case when you're done so nothing gets tangled or lost. A T-handle makes the pull-through easier on your hands, which is a nice touch on cold mornings or when you're running it through a stubborn bore. The whole thing tucks into a backpack or bag and shrugs off getting knocked around.
Most folks put a few drops of solvent like Hoppe's No. 9 just ahead of the bronze brush and a little oil on the tail end, so the bore gets scrubbed and then lightly protected in the same pull. Two or three passes usually does it. Always pull in the same direction the shot travels, chamber to muzzle, to keep things gentle on the barrel. When the snake gets grungy, toss it in the wash and it's ready for the next round. Think of it as your go-to for field and range touch-ups, with a proper rod kit still handling the deep cleans.
