It's a single shot. The 'Merica is built on Bond's Cyclops frame, where the barrel block is bored as one chamber instead of two. That leaves extra steel under the bore, which adds weight and lowers the bore axis to help tame the recoil of the .45-70 cartridge.
It's stout but manageable if you respect it. The 28 ounce weight and hand-filling extended B6 grips soak up more than you'd expect, and a firm two-handed grip is the way to go. Recoil also depends heavily on your ammo, since lighter trapdoor-level loads are much softer shooting than full-power hunting loads.
Mechanically it's the same proven Cyclops platform, but this version wears custom commemorative engraving on both flat sides of the barrel to mark America's 250th anniversary. Bond Arms describes it as the redneck version of their 250th series. It's a limited run, which gives it real collector appeal on top of the fun factor.
Only within the Cyclops family. Bond Arms barrels are interchangeable within the same frame type, and the Cyclops frame is not compatible with barrels made for the standard two-shot frames like the Stinger or Rowdy lines. Also worth knowing, the Cyclops barrel does not use an extractor, so you'll pluck spent cases out by hand.
