That dual-threat combination comes from the patented SERPA Auto-Lock mechanism that grips your pistol securely but releases the moment your finger finds the release lever during your draw. No awkward thumb breaks slowing you down, no fumbling to disengage anything—your trigger finger does the work as part of your natural draw motion.
The speed cut design opens lower on the holster body, which gets your muzzle moving horizontally faster and lets you acquire your target quicker. The thin profile keeps the overall footprint small against your body, and the design is compatible with reflex sights if you've got them mounted. Re-holstering is equally smooth thanks to the same speed cut geometry and that positive engagement you hear with an audible click when the SERPA lock seats. The passive retention detent screw lets you dial in exactly how much grip you want on your firearm.
This holster comes with both a belt loop platform and a paddle attachment, giving you the flexibility to switch based on your belt width or how you're carrying that day. The belt loop accommodates belts up to 1.75 inches and both platforms allow you to adjust the cant to suit your draw preference. The SERPA CQC also fits other Blackhawk mounting systems—shoulder rigs, S.T.R.I.K.E., Quick Disconnect, and tactical platforms—so if you ever need to adapt your setup, you're not buying a whole new holster.
Blackhawk uses injection-molded polymer with a dual-shot process that combines a durable outer surface with a low-friction inner lining. This isn't cheap plastic—it's designed to handle real use and the material resists moisture and wear that would damage leather. The holster is made in the USA and molded specifically for the Glock 17, 22, and 31 to ensure proper fit from day one.
When you grip the pistol and begin your draw, your index finger naturally rests on the finger tray at the front of the holster. As you apply pressure and draw, you're simultaneously releasing the lock. Your finger slides from the holster body to the gun frame in one fluid motion, and your finger automatically indexes on the slide for safety—there's no separate release step to learn.
Yes. The passive retention detent screw on the side lets you fine-tune the grip tension to your preference. You can tighten it for more friction or loosen it for a faster draw. Start with a slight gap between the screw and the holster body and test your fit with an unloaded firearm.
The speed cut design is compatible with pistol-mounted reflex sights like red dots. The lower opening point gives your muzzle clearance and the holster won't interfere with optics mounted on the slide.
The SERPA CQC works for both concealed carry and open carry. The thin profile and close-to-body design keep it compact for concealment, but the Level 2 retention and SERPA system make it equally suitable for open carry situations where retention matters.
