The Vickers 221 takes everything that made the standard Vickers sling the go-to choice across every branch of service and adds a trick worth having: instant conversion between two-point and one-point setups. A two-point sling handles most of what you'll throw at it, but there are moments, piling out of a truck or working a tight hallway, where a single point just moves better. This one does both without you having to swap gear or fumble with extra attachment points.
The magic is a molded polymer Burnsed Socket riding on the rear of the sling paired with a standard push button swivel up front. To go from two-point to one-point, you press the button to release the front swivel and reseat it into the Burnsed Socket near the rear of the receiver. That's it. The quick adjuster you already know from the Vickers line stays fully live in both modes, so you can cinch the rifle tight to your body or let it hang loose on the move.
This version wears 1.25 inch Invista solution-dyed CORDURA webbing in coyote brown, with ITW GhilleTex acetal hardware that keeps things light and snag-free. It runs 54 to 64 inches, adjustable across that range, and tips the scale at roughly 177 grams, so it doesn't add noticeable bulk to your setup. The sling drops onto any weapon with two QD sling swivel sockets, with the rear socket sitting toward the end of the receiver.
If your rifle has a rear eyelet instead of a QD socket, common on platforms like SCAR, SIG, and HK, you'll want to add a Universal Wire Loop with Push Button Socket, sold separately, to make the rear connection work. Like the rest of Blue Force Gear's lineup, the 221 is sewn in the USA and backed by a limited lifetime warranty, so it's built to log years of hard use and keep going.
You press the front push button swivel to release it, then reseat it in the molded Burnsed Socket toward the rear of the receiver. That single move flips the sling from two-point to one-point in a second or two. The quick adjuster stays fully functional in both configurations.
It's built for any weapon with two QD sling swivel sockets, with the rear socket positioned toward the end of the receiver, which covers most AR-platform setups. If your rifle uses a rear eyelet instead of a QD socket, like some SCAR, SIG, or HK models, you'll need to add a Universal Wire Loop with Push Button Socket, sold separately.
This is the push button version, which uses a standard push button swivel up front for the mode change. The RED Swivel version swaps in Blue Force Gear's Rapid Emergency Detachment swivel, a machined steel unit designed for quick release without fine motor skills. Both convert between two-point and one-point the same way; the RED just adds a faster emergency detach feature.
This model is the unpadded version, running slim 1.25 inch CORDURA webbing that keeps weight down to around 177 grams. If you carry a heavy rifle for long stretches and want more shoulder comfort, Blue Force Gear also offers a padded 221 with a 2 inch inline pad.
