Anybody who's run an AK knows the surplus canvas strap that came with it leaves plenty to be desired. The Blue Force Gear Vickers AK Sling takes the same quick-adjust two-point design that's earned a following across the military and adapts it specifically for AK-47, AK-74, and AKM-pattern rifles. You get instant length changes with no floppy sling tail hanging off to snag on your gear or a doorframe, which is the whole point of a modern fighting sling.
The front of the sling is where things get clever. It comes with a Molded Universal Wire Loop, or UWL, that threads onto the sling and grabs the elongated eyelet on your handguard retainer or gas block. The loop uses a nylon-coated stainless steel cable, so it stays quiet and locks in tight without any metal-on-metal clinking. Lefties aren't shut out either, since the UWL can be passed under the gas tube for a mirror-image setup. And because it's threaded on rather than sewn, you can pull it off entirely if you want to run different front hardware down the road.
Out back, a pair of triglides handle the rear attachment, and they fit just about any stock you'd throw at them: fixed wood, polymer, side-folders, and wire stocks all work. The webbing runs 1.25 inches wide, and the adjuster and triglides are made from glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel nylon that lays flat and stays comfortable across your chest during a long day. The contrasting pull tab makes grabbing the adjuster fast even without looking down.

You can size it to run over a bare shirt or over a plate carrier and chest rig, then use the quick adjuster on the fly to snug the rifle to your body for hands-free carry or let it out to get a proper cheek weld and press the trigger.
