The Vickers 221 takes everything people love about the standard Vickers Combat Applications Sling and adds a genuinely clever trick: the ability to jump between two-point and one-point carry without stopping to fiddle with buckles. Designed with input from Larry Vickers, it uses Blue Force Gear's RED (Rapid Emergency Detachment) Swivel up front and a molded Burnsed Socket at the rear so you can reconfigure your setup on the fly. A two-point carry keeps the rifle steady and out of your way most of the time, but when you're piling out of a vehicle or working through tight spaces, the freedom of a single point earns its keep.
The magic here is in the hardware. The RED Swivel is sewn to the front of the sling toward the muzzle, and it releases with a straight pull on that sphero-conical knob instead of the fussy push-pull of a standard button. It only takes about 7 pounds of pull to release, but the shape and angle keep accidental releases in check. A pull more than 15 degrees off axis simply won't let go, so you don't have to worry about the sling popping loose if it snags on brush, gear, or a door frame. That makes it a smart pick if you ever run a rifle near water or anywhere sling entrapment is a real concern.
A standard push-button swivel and the molded Burnsed Socket are woven onto the rear, giving you full length adjustment whether you're running plates or shooting slick. The webbing is Invista solution-dyed Cordura, which holds its coyote tan color and shrugs off hard use. It fits any weapon set up with two QD sling swivel sockets, with the rear socket toward the end of the receiver. Running a SCAR, Sig, or HK with a rear eyelet instead of a socket? You'll want to add a Universal Wire Loop with push button socket.

You pull the RED Swivel knob at the front of the sling to release it, then reinsert it into the Burnsed Socket at the rear of the receiver for one-point mode. The whole move takes a second and doesn't require any fine motor skills. Full length adjustability stays available in both configurations.
It's built to avoid that. The swivel needs about 7 pounds of force pulled nearly straight out to release, and a pull more than 15 degrees off axis won't let go at all. That means it holds firm even if it catches on brush, gear, or a doorway.
