The Vickers Sling is one of those pieces of gear that earned its reputation the hard way, through real use. Co-developed with Larry Vickers, a former 1st SFOD-Delta operator, this 2-point design uses a patented Quick Adjuster that lets you tighten the sling snug against your body for hands-free carry or loosen it instantly for a solid shooting position. No buckles to unclip, no fumbling in the field, just grab the pull tab and go. This version comes dressed in the classic M81 Woodland camo pattern that plenty of folks still swear by.
It runs 1.25-inch Invista solution-dyed CORDURA webbing on both ends, which is tough stuff that holds up to abuse and resists fraying. The length adjusts from 54 inches with the adjuster tightened out to 64 inches fully extended, so it fits everything from a tight carbine setup to a rifle worn over body armor. The contrasting pull tab on the adjuster makes it easy to find by feel when you need it quickly.
This particular model uses glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel nylon hardware instead of metal. The nylon pieces lay flatter against your body for a more comfortable carry and keep the overall weight down, which you notice on a long day. The webbing secures through the included triglides, and you can loop it directly through sling swivels or loops, or pair it with separate attachment hardware if your setup calls for it.
The Vickers Sling fits standard M4 carbines along with a wide range of other carbines and rifles. It can also be mounted upside down, with the adjuster toward the rear, for a muzzle-up carry on bolt guns and shotguns. Like all Blue Force Gear slings, it's made in the USA and backed by a limited lifetime warranty, so it's a buy-once piece for most people.
No, attachment hardware is not included with this sling. That's by design, since it gives you the flexibility to run the 1.25-inch webbing through your existing sling swivels or loops, or pair it with whatever QD or loop hardware your setup uses. The sling does include the triglides needed to secure the webbing.
This model uses glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel nylon hardware, which is lighter and lays flatter against your body for a more comfortable carry. Blue Force Gear also offers a metal version with a machined aluminum adjuster and phosphate steel triglides for folks who want extra strength. Both use the same patented Quick Adjuster.
This is the unpadded version of the Vickers Sling, built with 1.25-inch CORDURA webbing on both ends. If you carry a heavier rifle for long stretches and want added shoulder comfort, Blue Force Gear makes a padded model with closed-cell foam, but this listing is the standard unpadded CAS.
It's designed for standard M4 carbines and fits a wide range of other carbines and rifles. It can also be mounted upside down with the adjuster to the rear for a muzzle-up carry on bolt action rifles and shotguns. The 54 to 64 inch adjustment range handles setups with or without body armor.
