The Blue Force Gear Vickers Padded Sling takes the proven two-point Vickers platform and adds a fixed 2-inch padded rear section, so a heavy carbine stops digging into your shoulder and neck during long days at the range or in the field. This is the metal hardware variant in Coyote, meaning the adjuster and buckles are machined for folks who want their gear built like a tank.
The heart of the design is the front Quick Adjuster. Grab the nylon pull tab and you can loosen the sling for hands-free carry or cinch it down tight for a stable shooting position in about a second. Cinch a two-point sling down in seated or kneeling and you get noticeably less wobble behind the sights, almost like a built-in support. The 2-inch inline pad is made from closed-cell foam that stays put on the webbing and won't soak up water or gain weight in the rain.
The sling uses 1.25-inch CORDURA webbing and attaches through standard sling loops, buttstock slots, or swivels using the included triglides. It fits a standard M4 or AR-15 style carbine right out of the package, and works with just about any rifle or shotgun when paired with the right sling hardware, sold separately. The buttstock end handles your fixed length adjustment while the front Quick Adjuster manages the on-the-fly tension. The padded version runs a bit longer than the standard model, giving you room to run body armor or heavier layers without maxing out the adjustment. No, the sling ships with the two included triglides for looping through fixed sling loops or buttstock slots, but QD swivels and other attachment hardware are sold separately. Blue Force Gear designs it this way so you can match the exact mounts your rifle uses, like an M-LOK QD socket up front and a stock QD or stud in back. If your rifle already has standard sling loops, you can run the sling as-is.
The padded version adds a fixed 2-inch closed-cell foam pad to the rear section for more comfort during long carry, and it runs a touch longer overall at 57 to 67 inches versus the standard sling's shorter range. That extra length gives you room to run body armor or heavier layers. If you carry a heavier setup for extended periods, the padded model is the way to go.
This SKU is the metal hardware version, which uses machined buckles for maximum toughness. The nylon Zytel hardware Blue Force Gear also offers is lighter and plenty strong, in fact it's what they ship to much of the US military. Both work identically, so it really comes down to whether you prefer the extra ruggedness and heft of metal.
