This padded metal-hardware version keeps everything that made the sling a staple across military and civilian use, then adds a wide shoulder pad and beefs up the adjuster and triglides for people who just want metal.
The headline feature here is the patented Quick Adjuster. Pull the contrasting tab and the sling instantly loosens for movement, then snugs back down to lock the rifle tight against your body for a stable off-hand shot. It holds where you set it and adjusts one-handed, which is the whole point. The sling is built from 1.25-inch Invista solution-dyed CORDURA webbing with a 2-inch inline closed-cell foam pad running through the rear section. That pad won't slide up and down the sling, and because it's closed-cell foam it shrugs off water instead of soaking it up and gaining weight.
This OM model swaps the plastic and nylon parts for a machined aluminum adjuster that's hardcoat anodized matte black, paired with phosphated steel triglides. That's more strength than you'll ever ask of a sling, and it handles heat better too. If you're running a heavier setup with an optic, light, laser, or a can hanging off the muzzle, the padded rear really earns its keep on longer carries and range days in a t-shirt where you don't have body armor to buffer the load.
