Blue Force Gear built the GMT (short for "Give Me Tail") for folks who like a tailed sling but are tired of the old-school hardware that comes with it. Instead of the ALICE-style metal adjuster that dates back to the 1960s, the GMT runs a custom double-locking buckle molded from glass-filled nylon. You pull the tail to cinch it down and grab the spherical release knob to loosen it back up. There is a sewn-in stop at the end of the tail so the sling won't come apart and drop your gun, which is a genuinely smart touch that legacy tail slings never solved without tying a knot in the webbing.
This is the 1-inch variant, and it exists for a reason. Blue Force Gear spec'd the narrower webbing for submachine guns, pistol caliber carbines, and lightweight AR builds where a full-width sling is more than you need. If you're running something like a CZ Scorpion, a SIG MPX, or a trimmed-down AR, the 1-inch webbing feeds through smaller sling loops without bunching up the way wider material does. Less bulk, less weight, and a cleaner fit on a compact gun.
The webbing is Invista solution-dyed CORDURA, and the hardware is glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel nylon that won't rust or seize up on you. Thread is TEX 70 bonded nylon, and the whole thing is sewn in the USA with US-made materials. Blue Force Gear also spent real effort picking webbing that behaves itself better than the thin, flat nylon on older tail slings, so the free tail is less likely to wander somewhere it shouldn't like in front of your optic or behind the trigger.
The GMT attaches with triglides and works with standard sling swivels, loops, or added hardware. It's ready to go on M4-pattern carbines and plays nice with HK, M27, and most AR mounting setups. Note that mounting hardware like push-button swivels or ULoops is sold separately, so if your gun doesn't have a spot to loop the webbing directly, plan on grabbing the right attachment for your setup.

You pull the tail through the buckle to cinch the sling tighter and grab the spherical release knob to loosen it back out. The custom double-locking buckle holds tension in both directions, so once you set it, it stays put until you decide to move it. A sewn-in stop at the end of the tail keeps the sling from coming apart and dropping your weapon.
