Birchwood Casey Universal Rear Bag, Prefilled Tan Polyester Rest

Description

The Birchwood Casey Universal Rear Bag takes one of the fiddly parts of bench setup off your plate. It arrives filled with corn cob media, which means no scooping sand or hunting down a funnel before you can get to work. Set it under the toe of your stock, dial in your elevation, and you have a stable foundation for load development, sight-in, or just tightening up your groups on a lazy range day.

What Makes the Universal Rear Bag Hold Steady

The build is where this bag earns its keep. It combines a polyester body with a leather top, a pairing that resists stretching and sagging so the bag keeps its shape shot after shot. The leather contact surface grips the stock and gives you a consistent point of contact, while the corn cob fill offers firm support that still conforms slightly to your stock's contour. Corn cob is a favorite for a reason. It's light enough to carry around, firm enough to support a rifle, and it won't grind itself into dust the way rice tends to.

Pairing the Rear Bag With Your Front Rest

The 4-inch design is meant to work alongside the 4-inch center post on The Rock and other similar front rests, and it plays nicely with most front bags and pedestal rests on the market. That flexibility is the whole point of the "universal" name. Whether you run a dedicated front pedestal or a simple front bag, this rear support fills out the setup and gives your rifle two solid points of contact.

Getting the Most From the Universal Rear Bag

This one is at home on the bench for precision work, but it'll ride along to prairie dog towns, sight-in days, and load testing sessions too. It works on virtually any flat surface, so a tailgate or a shooting bench both do the job. Squeeze or knead the bag to fine-tune elevation, and let the leather top do the gripping. It's a simple piece of gear that quietly makes every other part of your setup shoot better.
