The Birchwood Casey Dirty Bird 3-Gun Nation target takes the guesswork out of scoring your practice. Instead of squinting downrange trying to find dark holes on a dark background, each round leaves an intense white ring where it lands, giving you instant, high-contrast feedback on exactly where your shots are landing. That kind of visibility is a real time-saver when you are running drills and do not want to keep walking to the target between strings.
This one is built around the official 3-Gun Nation scoring layout, so it mirrors what you would see at a match. It has two zones: a 17.25 inch outer secondary or "B" zone and an 8 inch primary or "A" zone in the center. The scoring works out to one hit in the A zone counting as a neutralized target, or two hits anywhere in the B zone. If you shoot competition or just want to train against a realistic standard, that layout beats a plain bullseye.
The target is printed on heavy tagboard, which holds up better than flimsy paper and does fine whether you are shooting indoors or out in the wind. The back is non-adhesive, so you can staple or clip it up however your stand is set, jot notes right on the sheet, and stash it afterward to compare against your next session. It works across pistol, rifle, and rimfire, and the black-and-red color scheme reads clean for both open sights and optics.
Each pack comes with five targets, which is enough to get through a solid practice day or split between a couple of guns. For anyone drilling transitions, target acquisition, or just tightening up groups, the immediate splatter feedback keeps you dialed in without the constant back-and-forth to the stand.
When a round passes through the target, it strips away the dark surface coating and leaves a bright white ring around the hole. That white-on-black contrast makes each shot easy to see from the firing line, so you can track your groups without walking downrange. It shows up well for both close pistol work and longer rifle strings.
The target uses the official 3-Gun Nation layout with two areas: an 8 inch primary A zone in the center and a 17.25 inch secondary B zone around it. One hit in the A zone counts as a neutralized target, or two hits anywhere in the B zone. It is a solid way to practice against the same standard you would see at a match.
These work across pistol, rifle, and rimfire, so they are a good all-around choice for a mixed range day. The heavy tagboard holds up to a variety of calibers and the red aiming points read clearly through both iron sights and optics. Just be sure to back them with a proper target stand or frame.
No, the back is non-adhesive. That lets you staple or clip them to your stand however you like, write notes directly on the sheet, and save them afterward to compare against future practice sessions. It also means you are not fighting with sticky backing on a windy day.
