Birchwood Casey 24″ Metal Target Stand with Spike, Gray Steel

Description

There's a lot to be said for a target stand that just works, and this is one of them. The Birchwood Casey Metal Target Stand takes the fuss out of setting up at an outdoor range. A big steel spike runs down the center, so you drive it into soft ground, slot in a pair of wooden posts, and staple your target up top. From bag to bullseye takes about a minute, and once it's planted, your target stays put instead of blowing around or flopping over between strings.

What the Birchwood Casey Metal Target Stand Handles

This one holds targets up to 24 inches wide, which covers most paper silhouettes, sight-in sheets, and cardboard backers you'll want to run. It uses two 1" x 2" wooden posts (6-foot lengths are the go-to) that drop into the receiver tubes and get held snug by clips inside. The wood isn't included, but that's on purpose. The posts sit up high where they take the hits, so when they get chewed up you just swap in fresh ones for a few bucks instead of replacing the whole stand. The steel base stays low and out of the line of fire, which is a big reason these things last.

Built to Ride Around in Your Truck

The frame is rugged steel with a gray powder-coated finish that fights off rust, so leaving it in the bed of the truck between range days won't kill it. Dual handles on the frame give you leverage to push the spike in or pull it back out of packed dirt, and the hinged support bracket folds the whole thing flat. It slides into a trunk or truck bed without eating up your gear space.

For plinkers, hunters checking zero before season, or anyone running drills on a private patch of ground, this is about as no-nonsense as target setup gets. Simple, tough, and quick to move around when you want to reset your distances.
