Bergara built its name on barrels, and the B-14 HMR Carbon Wilderness is what happens when they wrap one of those barrels in carbon fiber and hang it on their most popular crossover platform. The 24 inch CURE carbon fiber barrel is built around a 410 stainless core with a No. 6 taper, so you get the stiffness and heat management of a heavier profile without lugging the extra steel up a mountain. It free floats in the stock and carries Bergara's sub-MOA guarantee with quality factory ammo, which is not a small thing in a production .300 Win Mag.
The HMR stock has an integrated mini-chassis molded right in, giving the action a consistent, repeatable bedding surface from shot to shot. You also get an adjustable cheekpiece to line your eye up behind glass, length of pull spacers that adjust from 12.25 to 14.5 inches, and QD flush cups for quick sling swaps. It runs a 5-round AICS-style detachable magazine, so spare mags are easy to come by and topping off in the field is quick. The whole barreled action wears Sniper Grey Cerakote to shrug off weather, and the woodland camo stock finish looks right at home in the timber.
Magnum cartridges kick, no way around it, but the factory-installed Omni muzzle brake takes a lot of the sting out, cutting felt recoil noticeably so you can stay in the scope and spot your own hits. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24, so swapping the brake for a suppressor is simple. Bergara's smooth two-lug B-14 action feeds and extracts cleanly thanks to its coned bolt nose, and the Performance Trigger breaks crisp without any tinkering. The receiver is drilled and tapped on the Remington 700 footprint, which means scope bases and rings are everywhere. For elk, mule deer, or stretching steel past what most hunting rifles are comfortable with, this one covers a lot of ground.

Bergara backs this rifle with a sub-MOA guarantee using quality factory match-grade ammunition, and the free-floated carbon fiber wrapped barrel plus the integrated mini-chassis bedding are a big part of why it holds groups. You can. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24, which is the most common thread pitch for .30 caliber suppressors and muzzle devices. Just spin off the included Omni brake and thread on your can.
The receiver is drilled and tapped to the Remington 700 footprint, so long-action Remington 700 bases and one-piece rails fit right up. No iron sights are included, so plan on adding an optic. Given the reach of .300 Win Mag, a quality scope is worth the investment here.
It is a magnum cartridge, but this rifle is set up well to handle it. The factory Omni muzzle brake cuts felt recoil substantially, and the padded buttstock and roughly 8.3 pound weight soak up more of the push. Most folks find it very manageable from field positions and even comfortable off a bench.
