Custom rifle builds live or die by the foundation, and this Bergara Premier barreled action gives you a proven one. You get Bergara's Premier action machined from 416 stainless steel in the USA, mated to a 24-inch CURE carbon fiber barrel chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum. It's the same barrel setup Bergara runs on the MgLite, MgMicro Lite, and Divide, which tells you exactly what it was built for: mountain hunts and long walks where every ounce on your back matters. At 4.4 pounds, it leaves plenty of room in your weight budget for glass and a stock.
Carbon fiber barrels shed weight, but Bergara's CURE design goes a step further with Cold Bore Technology, engineered to keep that critical first shot landing with the rest of the group. That matters a lot in a hunting magnum, where the cold bore shot is usually the only one that counts. The No. 6 contour keeps things rigid without bulk, the carbon wrap helps pull heat away during load development sessions, and the 1:10 twist stabilizes the full range of popular .300 Win Mag hunting bullets. The muzzle comes threaded 5/8×24 with a thread protector installed, so adding a suppressor or brake is a five-minute job.
The action itself carries features you'd expect from a custom shop: an enlarged bolt handle for positive cycling with gloves on, a spiral-fluted bolt body, a dual ejector setup, and a sliding plate extractor for reliable case handling with fat magnum brass. The receiver is drilled and tapped in the 8-40 Remington 700 pattern, and the whole assembly drops into most Rem 700 style stocks and chassis, so your options for triggers, bottom metal, and furniture are nearly endless.
If you've been eyeing a lightweight .300 Win Mag build for elk country or a do-it-all long-range hunting rig, this is a smart way to get Bergara barrel quality without paying for a factory stock you planned to replace anyway. Pick your trigger, bed it into your favorite stock, and go shoot.
Yes, the Premier action is built on the Remington 700 footprint and fits most Rem 700 pattern stocks and chassis. Keep in mind the No. 6 CURE carbon barrel has its own profile, so check your stock's barrel channel and plan on bedding or minor inletting for the best fit. Chassis systems with generous channels are usually a straight drop-in.
No, it ships as a barreled action only, which is part of the appeal for custom builders. It accepts Remington 700 pattern triggers, so you can run a TriggerTech, Timney, or whatever your hands prefer. You'll also need to supply your own stock and bottom metal to complete the rifle.
The 1:10 twist is the standard for .300 Win Mag and handles the vast majority of hunting and match bullets, from 150 grain deer loads up through the 200 to 212 grain high-BC bullets popular for elk and long-range work. It's a versatile twist that won't box you into one bullet style.
Yes, the muzzle is threaded in the common 5/8×24 pattern and comes with a thread protector installed. That covers most .30 caliber suppressors and brakes on the market, so attaching your muzzle device is quick and simple.
