Instead of the lift-pull-push-drop motion of a standard bolt gun, you simply pull the bolt straight back and shove it forward. The bolt locks up with eight rotating lugs, and Beretta put the design through NATO-style torture testing, including wet conditions, extreme cold, and a six-figure round-count endurance run, before it ever hit shelves.
The 20 inch barrel is cold hammer-forged from Beretta's Steelium alloy, with the barrel and chamber formed from a single piece for consistency shot to shot. The muzzle comes threaded 5/8×24 for a suppressor or brake, and a Picatinny rail up top means mounting glass is simple. The single-stage trigger adjusts between roughly 2.1, 2.6, and 3.3 pounds, so you can set it crisp and light for the bench or a bit heavier for cold-weather hunts with gloves. Feeding comes from a flush-fitting 5-round polymer magazine with high-visibility orange accents, which is a small touch you will appreciate the first time you drop one in the leaves.
Here is where this rifle really stands apart: the whole thing is genuinely ambidextrous. The bolt handle and ejection can be swapped from right to left in about a minute, and the three-position safety rides at the rear of the bolt where either thumb can run it silently. That is one of the rifle's best tricks. Beretta offers conversion kits with a matched barrel and bolt head, and swaps take only a few minutes with basic tools. Since the optics rail is attached to the barrel assembly, your scope stays zeroed to that barrel through the swap.
