The 32-inch vent rib barrels are Beretta's Steelium Optimabore HP design, made from tri-alloy steel that is deep drilled, cold hammer forged, and vacuum stress relieved. A long double forcing cone smooths the shot column's transition, which translates to dense, uniform patterns with noticeably softer recoil and less muzzle rise between the pair. The bores are rated for lead, steel, and high-performance steel loads, and the flush-mount Optima-Choke HP tubes let you tighten or open your patterns to match the presentation. A white front bead and steel mid bead ride the rib, and a vented mid rib helps shed heat during long practice sessions.

The current generation got a redesigned top lever that opens and closes with less effort, improved receiver balance, and a polished stainless steel trigger. The floral engraving is also more detailed and now extends across the receiver tail and hinge pins. It is the same proven 686 action underneath, just with nicer touches throughout.
Yes, it is chambered for 3-inch shells, so it will run everything from light 2-3/4 inch target loads up to 3-inch field and waterfowl loads. Most clays use will center on standard 2-3/4 inch shells, but the extra chamber length gives you flexibility for hunting duty.
