Description

The 92XI is Beretta taking the legendary 92 platform and pushing it further than it has ever gone from the factory. Single-action only, optics-ready, and loaded with trigger upgrades that competition shooters have been wanting for years — this is not your standard 92FS. The frame-mounted ambidextrous safety moves the lever to a more ergonomic position compared to the slide-mounted safety on classic 92 models, giving you a true cocked-and-locked carry option that feels natural in the hand.

The heart of the performance package is the X-Treme-S flat-faced trigger. All of the internal trigger components are DLC coated, which reduces friction and keeps the pull feeling slick and consistent over thousands of rounds. Paired with a lightweight skeletonized hammer, the trigger breaks cleanly with a short reset that is easy to work with fast. The Vertec-style grip frame narrows the profile compared to the traditional 92 grip, giving most shooters a more vertical wrist angle and a bit more control.

This specific variant is part of the 92XI American Combat Series, a limited-edition collaboration between Beretta USA and Howe Arms. Founded by Richard Howe, a two-tour Army combat veteran, Howe Arms employs disabled veteran artists who hand-paint each pistol individually. The result is that no two Multicam finishes are identical — every gun has its own pattern. It is collectible without sacrificing any of the function.

On the practical side, the slide comes optics-ready for MRDS mounting right out of the box, using the same mounting system as the 92X Performance. A fiber optic front sight handles iron sight duty and gives you a fast, bright sight picture in most lighting conditions. The 4.7-inch barrel gives you a full-size sight radius and solid ballistic performance in a package that handles well at the range or in a duty-style rig. This one ships with two 15-round magazines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the 92XI SAO different from a standard Beretta 92?

The 92XI is single-action only, meaning the hammer must be cocked before the first shot — there is no double-action first pull like on a traditional 92FS or M9. It also adds a frame-mounted ambidextrous safety (versus the classic slide-mounted safety), a flat-faced DLC-coated trigger with a skeletonized hammer, a Vertec-style grip frame, and an optics-ready slide. It is a meaningfully different pistol under the hood, not just a cosmetic refresh.

Is the Multicam finish on the Beretta 92XI American Combat Series durable?

Yes — the finish is Cerakote applied over the hand-painted Multicam pattern, which gives it solid protection against corrosion, wear, and solvents. Because each pistol is painted by hand by veteran artists at Howe Arms, there will be slight variations in the pattern from gun to gun, but the Cerakote topcoat keeps it looking good and holding up to regular use.

Can I mount a red dot sight on the Beretta 92XI SAO Multicam?

Yes. The slide is optics-ready for MRDS (Micro Red Dot Sight) mounting right out of the box. It uses the same mounting plate system as the Beretta 92X Performance, so there is a good selection of compatible adapter plates available for popular red dot footprints.

Is this pistol a good fit for competition shooting?

It is built with competition in mind. The flat-faced X-Treme-S trigger with DLC-coated components delivers a crisp, consistent break and a short reset that rewards fast shooting technique. The cocked-and-locked carry option via the frame-mounted safety and the optics-ready slide make it a solid choice for production-style or carry-optics competition divisions. Plenty of 92XI owners report tight groups at 15 yards once they dial in their preferred 9mm load.

What grip does the 92XI use and are there aftermarket options?

The 92XI uses a Vertec-style grip, which is slimmer and more vertical than the traditional 92 grip. Some shooters prefer it for the wrist angle it promotes, while others find it a bit narrow for their hand size. Aftermarket grip panels are available, and options like the LOK Veloce grip set can restore more of the traditional 92 contour if you prefer that feel.

How is the Beretta 92XI American Combat Series connected to veterans?

Beretta partnered with Howe Arms, a veteran-owned company founded by Richard Howe, a two-tour Army combat veteran who served in Afghanistan. Each pistol in the Combat Series is hand-painted by a disabled veteran artist, making every single gun unique. The collaboration is a genuine tribute to military service, not just a marketing theme.
