A dirty shotgun barrel doesn't need a full field strip and a bench full of gear to get clean. The Breakthrough Battle Rope 2.0 in 12 gauge is built for that quick pass at the range, dragging away carbon and residue so your bore stays smooth and reliable shot after shot. It's compact, lightweight, and lives comfortably in a range bag until you need it.
What sets the Battle Rope 2.0 apart from a plain pull-through is the combination of scrubbing and wiping in one tool. The rope has two integrated bronze brushes that dig into stubborn carbon build-up, while the extra-thick cotton rope fills the bore completely and mops up the loosened gunk behind it. Because it's thicker than a lot of competing snakes, it makes solid contact with the barrel walls for a more thorough wipe on every pull.
The upgraded design uses a flip-out pull handle that doubles as a weight. Drop the weighted brass end down the bore, let it lead the flex cable through, then flip the handle out to grab and pull the rope the rest of the way. It doesn't rely on gravity feeding, and the flex cable section is slim enough to run through the ejection port on many shotguns without breaking the gun down first.
When the rope gets loaded up with fouling, the brass coupling detaches from the flex cable so you can toss the rope in the wash and reuse it. Everything stows in the included EVA case, which clips to a carrier or pack by way of a MOLLE strap or the included carabiner. A caliber tag on the rope keeps you from grabbing the wrong one when you own a few. It's a no-fuss way to keep your shotgun running clean between range sessions.
In most cases, no. The flex cable section is designed to pass through the ejection port, so you can run the rope without breaking the gun down. Just drop the weighted end through the bore and pull it through.
It's fully reusable. The brass coupling detaches from the flex cable so you can pull the cotton rope off and wash it when it gets loaded up with fouling. Once it dries you're ready for the next range trip.
This model is sized specifically for 12 gauge shotguns and fills that bore for proper contact. If you shoot a different gauge or caliber, Breakthrough offers Battle Rope 2.0 versions in sizes like 20 gauge and various rifle and handgun calibers. Each rope carries a caliber tag so you can tell them apart at a glance.
The pull handle flips in to act as a weight on the brass end, so it drops through the barrel and pulls the flex cable along with it. Once it's through, you flip the handle back out to get a solid grip and draw the rope the rest of the way. It doesn't need gravity feeding to work.
