The BCM MK2 Buffer Mod 1 T2 is a standalone tuning buffer designed exclusively for rifles already equipped with the BCM MK2 recoil mitigation system. This isn't meant to replace your whole setup, but rather to dial in the performance you already have. If your rifle is running hot and ejecting brass too far forward, or if you've added a suppressor and need to adjust your gas dynamics, this 5.6 oz buffer gives you that incremental control.
The T2 sits in the middle of BCM's four-weight lineup (T0 at 3.8 oz through T4 at 7.4 oz), making it a solid choice for moderately over-gassed setups. Yes. The T2 actually handles suppressed fire well because suppressors add backpressure to your system. Many shooters find the 5.6 oz weight is the right balance for suppressed use while still cycling reliably with standard ammo unsuppressed. Every rifle is different though, so monitor ejection to dial it in for your specific gas system.
Installation is straightforward if you already have an MK2 system in place. Simply remove your current MK2 buffer and slide the new one in. Make sure you're using the Mil-Spec M16A4 rifle spring with it. If you're new to the MK2 platform, you'll need the complete receiver extension and spring as well.
