Bravo Company took the tried-and-true A1/A2 grip and dragged it into the modern era with the Mod 4. The big story here is the reduced angle. Instead of the old 25-degree A2 pitch that was built around a bladed, elbow-out rifle stance, the Mod 4 sits your hand in a more vertical position that matches how folks shoot today, squared up with a thumb-forward hold on the handguard. That small change lines your wrist up naturally and makes trigger control feel a lot more predictable.
The texture is where you'll notice the difference right away. BCM went with an aggressive, ultra-tactile surface that bites into your palm whether your hands are sweaty, gloved up, or soaked from a rainy range day. Combined with a high-rise beavertail backstrap and an extended forward tang that closes the gap between the trigger guard and the grip, the whole hand-to-receiver interface feels tighter and more locked in.
This grip runs a touch wider than the Mod 0 and Mod 1, up to about a quarter inch, so it's a nice pick if you've got larger hands or just like a fuller grip to wrap around. The more vertical angle also plays well with compact builds, SBRs, and pistol-style ARs where you're working in tight, squared-off positions. If you're running a vertical grip, laser, or optic up front, the Mod 4 was designed with that kind of setup in mind.
BCM molds the Mod 4 from high-quality impact-resistant polymer, so it shrugs off drops, knocks, and rough handling. The open-bottom design keeps weight down, and there's room inside for a battery or a small tool if you plug it. It fits mil-spec AR-15 and AR-10 pattern lowers, and it ships with the mounting hardware you need to get it bolted on. Made in America, and it carries the reputation BCM has earned building parts that hold up shot after shot.
The Mod 4 fits any mil-spec AR-15 or AR-10 pattern lower receiver, which covers the vast majority of AR builds out there. It comes with the mounting screw and washer you need, so you can swap it onto your existing lower with just a screwdriver or hex key. If your lower is mil-spec, you're good to go.
The Mod 4 runs up to about a quarter inch wider than the Mod 0 and Mod 1, which gives you a fuller grip to wrap your hand around. It shares the same reduced angle and aggressive texture that BCM's Gunfighter line is known for, so the main difference comes down to grip girth and feel. Larger hands tend to gravitate toward the wider Mod 4.
The Mod 4 has an open-bottom design with room inside for a battery or a small tool. It does not ship with a hinged storage door like some grips do, so if you want to seal it up you can add a grip plug or storage core. Plenty of folks just run it open to keep the weight down.
The classic A2 grip was designed around an older bladed shooting stance with the elbow kicked out. The Mod 4's reduced angle sits your hand more vertically, which lines up your wrist better for the modern squared-off, thumb-forward hold most people shoot with now. That translates to more comfortable control and steadier trigger presses.
