Bravo Company took the tried-and-true A2 birdcage that has ridden on M16 and M4 rifles for decades and stretched it out just enough to solve a very specific problem. The A2X is an extended version of that classic flash suppressor, and its longer body is the whole point. Thread it onto a 14.5-inch barrel, pin and weld it, and you push overall length past 16.1 inches without changing the look and feel builders have trusted forever.
If you are running a 14.5-inch M4-profile barrel and want it permanently affixed, this is one of the cleanest ways to do it. The extended length adds function without unnecessary bulk, and it keeps the authentic silhouette people love on M4 and SOCOM-style clones. Once it is welded and refinished, most folks can barely tell it apart from a standard A2 unless they are really hunting for the weld mark.
The A2X is machined from 4150 steel and phosphate coated per MIL-STD-171, so it holds up to heat, weather, and hard use the same way a mil-spec flash hider should. It carries the same closed-bottom, open-slot A2 design that cuts muzzle flash in low light and helps keep dust down when you are shooting prone. Threading is 1/2-28 tpi for .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO barrels, so it drops right onto most AR-15 muzzles.
BCM ships this one predrilled at the base and includes both a dowel pin and a crush washer, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of a pin and weld job. Most builders send it off to a gunsmith to get the timing and weld done correctly, and it tends to spin on true and come out looking sharp. If you have a favorite gunsmith, hand them this and you will be squared away in short order.
