The .300 Blackout cartridge lives or dies by the quality of the barrel behind it, and that's exactly where Bravo Company refuses to cut corners. The RECCE-16 MCMR wears a 16 inch enhanced taper fluted barrel machined from independently certified Mil-Spec 11595E steel, chrome lined in the bore and chamber, and finished in manganese phosphate over the entire barrel. The 1:7 twist handles everything from fast 110 grain supersonic loads to heavy subsonic ammunition, so the rifle doesn't box you into one style of shooting. A carbine length gas system keeps it running consistently, and BCM even ships their bolt carrier groups with the Crane O-ring for the extractor, a small detail that matters with this cartridge.
This isn't a base model with a nice barrel bolted on. The MCMR-13 free float M-LOK handguard gives you 13 inches of real estate for lights, lasers, and hand stops, plus an included QD sling swivel mount. You also get the BCMGUNFIGHTER charging handle, the Mod 1 Compensator tuned for 7.62/300 calibers, the Mod 3 pistol grip, a PNT trigger, QD end plate, BCM trigger guard, and BCM stock. No, it ships without sights. The flat top T-marked upper receiver gives you a clean Picatinny rail up top, so plan on adding a red dot, LPVO, or a set of backup irons before your first range trip. The MCMR handguard has M-LOK slots along its length if you want to mount a front sight out there.
The 1:7 twist barrel stabilizes heavy subsonic bullets in the 190 to 220 grain range as well as lighter supersonic loads. BCM does note that some fine tuning may be needed in limited cases depending on your ammo and buffer combination, which is normal for .300 Blackout guns running a wide spread of loads. For general supersonic shooting, it runs as delivered.
Yes. The BCM Mod 1 Compensator 7.62/300 threads onto the muzzle in the standard 5/8×24 pattern used for .30 caliber ARs, so you can remove it and install a direct thread suppressor or a QD mount. That flexibility is a big part of why folks pick .300 Blackout in the first place.
.300 Blackout was designed to run in standard AR-15/5.56 pattern magazines, and this rifle includes one 30-round mag from the factory. Quality mags like PMAGs or USGI aluminum work fine. Just be careful to keep your .300 Blackout ammo clearly separated from 5.56 since the two cartridges fit the same magazines.
