Anyone who reloads knows the frustration of losing good brass to tall grass or gravel the second it hits the ground. The Caldwell Brass Trap solves that by parking a heat-resistant mesh bag right next to your ejection port, so spent cases drop straight into the catcher instead of scattering across the range. It works with just about any firearm, from semi-auto rifles and pistols to bolt guns and lever actions, which makes it a handy piece for anyone who wants to save their brass and keep their shooting area clean.
The wire-frame design assembles in seconds and holds the mesh bag open in the right shape so cases fall in without fuss. Set it flat on a bench next to your rifle to catch brass as it ejects, or thread it onto any standard tripod using the built-in 1/4-20 male stud for pistol work (tripod sold separately). You can also weigh it down with shooting bags if you want it to stay put in a breeze.
When the session's over, the zippered bottom is where this thing earns its keep. Unzip it, dump your brass straight into a bucket or ammo can, and you're done. No tipping the whole bag over or fishing cases out one at a time. The heat-resistant mesh shrugs off hot brass without melting, and it won't flap around in the wind the way cheaper nets tend to.
The whole trap collapses down flat and tucks into the included carry bag, so it rides easily in a range bag or the back of the truck. For reloaders and high-volume range days, it pays for itself fast in recovered brass and saved time. Spend more of your day shooting and a lot less of it crawling around on your hands and knees looking for cases.
For pistol shooting, the Brass Trap mounts to any standard tripod using the built-in 1/4-20 male threaded stud. Position it so the mesh bag sits next to your ejection port and let it catch cases as you shoot. Keep in mind the tripod itself is not included, so you'll want one on hand if you shoot handguns.
No. The Brass Trap uses a heat-resistant mesh specifically chosen to handle hot brass without melting or burning through. Cases drop right in straight off the ejection port, and the mesh holds up to repeated range sessions.
It's built to catch brass from most guns, including semi-auto rifles, bolt actions, lever actions, and semi-auto pistols. Because it sits beside the firearm rather than mounting to it, there's no special hardware needed and nothing interfering with your cycling. That versatility is a big part of why reloaders like it.
Yes. The wire-frame design collapses flat and stores in the included carry bag, so it tucks neatly into a range bag or gear box. It assembles back up in seconds when you're ready to shoot again.
