The MRAD earned its reputation the hard way, and this Deployment Kit is the full expression of what the platform was built to do. At its core is Barrett's Multi Role Adaptive Design bolt gun, the same architecture that won over USSOCOM as the basis for the Mk22 Advanced Sniper Rifle. What makes it special is the user-changeable barrel system: loosen two Torx screws, swap the barrel and bolt head, and you've moved from one caliber to another in about a minute without a gunsmith or a trip back to the bench for a full re-zero routine.
This kit ships with a .338 Lapua Magnum barrel for genuine extended-range capability and a 7.62×51 NATO barrel for training days when you'd rather not burn through magnum ammo. That combination is smart in practice, not just on paper. You can put real volume downrange in 7.62 to build fundamentals, then bolt on the .338 when it's time to stretch things past a mile. Recoil stays manageable thanks to the two-port muzzle brake, and the folding stock with adjustable comb and length of pull, plus the Magpul MOE grip, makes it easy to get behind the rifle the same way every time.
Barrett didn't stop at the rifle. The package includes a Leupold Mark 5HD 7-35×56, one of the best long-range optics going, along with a Harris bipod, five magazines per caliber, a VTAC sling, and two Multi-Cam mag pouches. Sustainment gear is covered too, with a tool kit, spare parts kit, and cleaning kit, and the whole system rides in a Pelican hard case with a soft case included as well. The olive drab green Cerakote finish looks sharp and holds up to weather and field use.

Caliber swaps come down to two parts: the barrel and the bolt head. Loosen the two Torx screws holding the barrel, slide in the other barrel, swap the bolt head, and torque everything back down with the included tool kit. It's the same core platform. The Mk22 that SOCOM adopted is built on Barrett's MRAD design, and this kit gives you that modular, multi-caliber architecture in a civilian package. The main difference is the caliber pairing here, .338 Lapua Magnum and 7.62×51 NATO, versus the Norma chamberings in the military contract version.

The MRAD's Picatinny top rail has built-in taper to help preserve elevation adjustment for extreme distances.
