The Single Mission Rifle takes everything that made the MRAD a legend in the precision world and strips it down to one job. Where the standard MRAD is built around swappable barrels and caliber flexibility, the SMR arrives from the factory set up in .300 PRC and stays that way. That focus pays off in a rifle that runs nearly 2.5 pounds lighter and an inch shorter than its multi-caliber sibling, while keeping about 90 percent parts commonality with the standard MRAD. You also keep the accuracy that put this platform on the map, with Barrett standing behind .75 MOA performance.
The heart of this rifle is a 26-inch fluted match barrel with a 1:8 twist, fully free floated and secured in the upper receiver with a standard barrel nut. That monolithic upper is machined from 7000-series aluminum and wears a full-length M1913 top rail with built-in taper, so mounting glass for long range work is straightforward. The bolt rides in an enclosed polymer bolt guide that keeps the action running smooth even when dust and grit would bind a tighter traditional design. Down in the lower, the match-grade trigger module is fully adjustable and drops out without tools, and the thumb safety can be set up for left or right hand operation.
The fixed, non-folding stock gives you a rock solid rear contact point with less flex than a folder, which helps you settle back into position faster between shots. A vertically adjustable cheek piece and length of pull spacers let you dial the fit to your build and your optic height. Chambered in .300 PRC, this rifle is right at home stretching past 1,000 yards, whether that means ELR matches, steel at distance, or big country hunting where wind calls matter.
