Battle Arms Development pretty much invented the modular ambi safety selector for the AR platform, and the BAD-ASS-ELITE is their refined take on it. The center core is Swiss CNC machined from bar-stock steel and gives you a reversible throw, so you can run the standard 90 degree action or drop it down to a 60 degree short-throw for faster, snappier movement between safe and fire. The levers are CNC machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum with a skeletonized cut that trims weight without giving up strength, and they wear a clean matte black anodized finish.
The big story here is the locking design. Instead of relying on a traditional screw head that can shear off or strip out over hard use, the ELITE uses a patent-pending dovetail setup with an internal 5/64 set screw that self-locks. That means no thread-locker needed, no small parts to lose, and no more of that annoying lever wiggle you get from spring-loaded detents. It's the kind of detail you appreciate the first time you cycle the safety and feel that positive, solid lockup.
You get two lever styles in the box, a standard and a short, and they're fully interchangeable so you can mix and match for a left or right handed setup or whatever feels right under your thumb. It's built to work with any AR variant lower and any trigger designed around a Mil-Spec safety, so Geissele, Timney, CMC, Hiperfire and the rest are all fair game. If your lower doesn't have short-throw FIRE markings, Battle Arms includes a marking sticker so you're covered either way.

The levers are fiber optic ready, but the inserts themselves are not included and are sold separately. If you want the added visibility, you can pick up the inserts and add them later without swapping the whole selector.
The ELITE uses an internal self-locking 5/64 set screw, so it won't back out and you don't need to add thread-locker. Since there's no exposed screw head, there's nothing to shear off or strip, which is a common failure point on older ambi safety designs.
