The Dirty Bird system is built around one simple idea: when a bullet punches through, the top film peels back to expose a brighter layer underneath, leaving a high-contrast white ring around the hole. That means you can spot exactly where your rounds land without a spotting scope, even at distance. It's the kind of instant feedback that keeps a range session moving instead of stalling out on trips downrange.
This pack mixes two target styles so you're covered for more than one job. You get six 3-inch bull's-eye targets that are great for tightening up your groups and running precision drills, plus six 12-inch sight-in targets with clear aiming points for dialing in a scope or open sights. Whether you're working close-in fundamentals or zeroing a new optic, there's a target here that fits the task.
The targets are printed on heavy tagboard and have a non-adhesive back, so you can staple, clip, or tape them to just about any stand or backer you've got. They hold up well to repeated hits, and the black-and-white contrast makes reading a group dead simple. They work indoors or outdoors, and since the backs aren't sticky, you can jot notes right on them and stash them to compare progress session to session.
They'll handle handguns, rifles, and rimfire alike, which makes this a solid all-purpose choice for anyone who splits time between different guns. Birchwood Casey has been making shooting and gun care products since 1948, and the Dirty Bird line is one of their go-to picks for folks who want reactive feedback without paying a premium for it. Toss a couple in your bag and you're set for a full range day.
When a bullet passes through, the film around the hole shrivels and exposes a brighter layer underneath, creating a high-contrast white ring that looks like splattered paint. That halo makes each shot easy to see from the firing line, so you can read your groups without walking downrange or using a spotting scope. It works indoors and outdoors thanks to the strong black-and-white contrast.
The pack includes six 3-inch bull's-eye targets and six 12-inch sight-in targets. The smaller bulls are ideal for precision practice and group work, while the larger sight-in targets have aiming points for zeroing scopes or open sights. It's a nice mix if you want both types of practice on one range trip.
Yes, the Dirty Bird targets work well with handguns, rifles, and rimfire guns across a wide range of calibers. The reactive splatter shows up clearly no matter what you're shooting, which makes this a good all-purpose option for a mixed range day.
They have a non-adhesive back, so you'll mount them with staples, clips, or tape onto a stand or backer. The upside is you can attach them almost anywhere, write notes directly on the sheet, and save them afterward to track your progress over time.
