Cut from 3/8" AR500 steel, this target is part of the company's Centerfire Silhouette lineup and is rated to handle up to 3,000 ft-lbs of bullet energy, which covers the vast majority of common centerfire rifle and handgun loads. The skull shape is one of the one-hole silhouette designs in the series, and it runs right around 12 inches for a compact but plenty-visible aiming profile. The bright white powder coat is more than just looks. It gives you high contrast against dirt berms and brush, so calling your hits at distance gets a lot easier. Each impact leaves a clean mark on the coating that wipes or repaints when you're ready to reset.
AR500 is abrasion-resistant, heat-treated steel, and at 3/8" thick it's the sweet spot for centerfire practice. The plate is precision laser-cut, which leaves smooth, burr-free edges that are safer to handle and hold up better against repeated strikes. Treat it right by shooting from a safe distance and keeping the plate at an angle, and a target like this will outlast stacks of paper.

For best results and to protect the plate, follow safe minimum distances and hang it at a slight downward angle.
For centerfire rifle, a good rule of thumb is to stay back at least 100 yards, while handguns are generally fine around 10 to 15 yards. Keeping proper distance protects both you and the target from splatter and premature wear. Angling the plate slightly downward helps deflect fragments toward the ground.
