The Birchwood Casey BC-RND12-38 is a 12-inch round gong built from 3/8" AR500 steel, the kind of plate that holds up shot after shot without turning into swiss cheese. It's a big, forgiving face that's easy to find in the scope and satisfying to hit, whether you're punching paper's noisier cousin at the local range or setting up a spot out on your own land.
This one is rated to soak up to 3,000 ft-lbs of bullet energy, which covers a wide spread of centerfire calibers from common rifle rounds on up. The edges are laser-cut for a clean, burr-free finish, and that matters more than it sounds. A crisp laser-cut edge keeps its hardness better than a rough plasma cut, so the plate stays flat and keeps ringing true instead of pitting and cratering early.
