Turkey hunting lives and dies by your pattern, and the Avian X AVXTKY06 is a choke built to tighten things up when a longbeard hangs up out past comfortable range. This one is cut to fit the Mossberg 835 and 935 Accu-Mag threads with a .680 constriction, so it drops right into those magnum pumps and autos without any guesswork on fitment.
The heart of this choke is a combination of internal groove technology and straight rifling. The grooves help pull the pellets away from the wad early, and the straight rifling keeps that wad from spinning as it leaves the muzzle. The result is more pellets staying together and landing where you're aiming instead of flinging wide. For hunters chasing dense counts in the 10-inch circle, that wad control is where the magic happens.
Avian X went heavy on the porting with this design. The radical porting bleeds gas away from the shot string, which helps keep the pattern from getting blown apart as it exits. Up on the crown you'll find castle cuts that lock the choke tight in the barrel while also giving gas a quick path to escape. A polished end face helps it seat and seal cleanly inside your barrel, which matters more than folks realize when you're squeezing every bit of performance out of a load.
It's machined from high-strength tempered steel and wears a black PVD finish, so it stands up to the pressure of heavy turkey loads and wipes clean without a fight. Best of all, it's rated for steel, tungsten, bismuth, and lead, which means it plays nice with everything from budget-friendly lead loads to the pricey TSS stuff that's taken over the turkey woods. Pattern it with a few different loads before season and let the targets tell you which one your gun likes best.
This choke is cut specifically for the Mossberg 835 and 935 Accu-Mag thread pattern in 12 gauge. It will not fit standard Accu-Choke or Win-Choke barrels, so make sure your gun is one of those magnum models before ordering. If you're unsure, check your barrel markings or your owner's manual for the choke system.
Yes. The AVXTKY06 is rated for steel, tungsten, bismuth, and lead, which covers TSS loads. That tempered steel build is made to handle the pressure of heavy turkey loads, so load up whatever your bird calls for and pattern from there.
The Mossberg 835/935 version carries a .680 constriction. That's a tight, turkey-specific squeeze designed to pull your pattern in and keep pellet counts high at extended range. As always, pattern your gun with your chosen load to confirm your effective distance.
The black PVD finish helps powder and plastic fouling wipe away easily, so cleanup is quick. It's still a good habit to pull and clean the choke after a hunt or a heavy patterning session to keep things sealing right and shooting consistent.
