Description

The 1911 and America share a long history, and few firearms platforms are as fitting a canvas for celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary as this one. Auto-Ordnance built the USA 250th Anniversary 1911 (model 1911TCAC19) on their full-size Stainless 1911 platform, giving it a foundation of high-grade stainless steel throughout the frame, slide, and barrel. On top of that solid base, they applied a matte gray Cerakote finish with copper-colored infill that pops against the black controls, making this one of the better-looking commemoratives to come through in a while.

The slide engraving is where the patriotic theme really comes to life. The left side reads “250th ANNIVERSARY” alongside the year 2026, and the right side carries “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” with the founding year 1776 in that same copper infill. The wood grip panels are custom-engraved, with the Liberty Bell on the left and a bald eagle on the right, both set against a field of stars. Worth noting: because the custom work is applied by hand, no two pistols are exactly alike, which only adds to the collector appeal.

Under the hood, this is a genuinely capable 1911. The stainless platform comes with a skeletonized trigger and hammer, full-length recoil guide rod, extended beavertail grip safety, and an extended magazine release. The mainspring housing and front strap are machined-checkered at 20 lines per inch for a solid purchase in any condition. TruGlo Combat Day Sights handle target acquisition, and the 5-inch match-grade barrel gives you a full government-length sight radius. Safety setup is the traditional trio: thumb safety, grip safety, and firing pin block.

This one ships with a single 7-round single-stack magazine and is available in limited quantities. It is made in the USA under the Kahr Firearms Group umbrella and carries a 1-year warranty. Whether you plan to display it, shoot it, or both, it genuinely does both well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Auto-Ordnance 250th Anniversary 1911 actually range-shootable or is it strictly a collector’s piece?

It is fully functional and range-capable. This pistol is built on Auto-Ordnance’s standard Stainless 1911 platform, which is a solid shooter with a match-grade 5-inch barrel and TruGlo Combat Day Sights. The commemorative finish and engraving are durable Cerakote, so taking it to the range is not going to ruin it. That said, given the limited availability, many buyers will choose to display it.

How many of these are being made? Is it truly limited?

Auto-Ordnance has confirmed this model is available in limited quantities only. It is a special edition tied specifically to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, so once this production run sells through, it is not expected to be reproduced. If you are on the fence, waiting is a risk.

What is the finish on this pistol, and how durable is it?

The slide and frame wear a matte gray Cerakote coating with copper-colored infill highlighting the patriotic engravings. Cerakote is one of the more durable firearm finishes on the market, holding up well against wear, moisture, and light handling. The black controls provide a sharp contrast to the overall look.

Does the grip engraving vary between individual pistols?

Yes, and intentionally so. Because the custom engraving and hand-applied color work is done by craftsmen rather than purely by machine, Auto-Ordnance notes that no two pistols are exactly alike and the copper infill color can vary slightly from piece to piece. For collectors, that actually adds to the uniqueness.

What sights come on the 250th Anniversary 1911, and can they be swapped?

This model ships with TruGlo Combat Day Sights, which are a solid upgrade over standard GI-style sights and work well in a range of lighting conditions. Because this is built on a standard 1911 platform, aftermarket sight options are widely available if you ever wanted to change them. That said, most buyers will leave them as-is.

Will standard 1911 .45 ACP magazines work with this pistol?

Yes. This is a full-size government-frame 1911 chambered in .45 ACP, which means it feeds from standard single-stack .45 ACP 1911 magazines. The pistol ships with one 7-round magazine, and any quality 1911 .45 ACP magazine from reputable makers like Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, or Metalform should work reliably.
