This model has 2.75 inch chambers, which is standard for the 28 gauge. Nearly all 28 gauge field and target ammo on the market is loaded in 2.75 inch shells, so you'll have no trouble finding what you need. Some listings show a 3 inch chamber for this gun, but the barrel is marked 70mm, which is 2.75 inches.
This SVE version comes with automatic ejectors, which throw spent hulls clear of the gun when you break the action open. That makes reloading faster in the field compared to extractor models, where you pluck the empties out by hand. ATI also sells an extractor version under a different part number, so double check the MPN if that matters to you.
The Cavalry series runs right around 6 pounds thanks to the 7075 aluminum receiver, and the 28 gauge version is among the lightest in the lineup. That light weight combined with 26 inch barrels makes it a quick-handling gun that's easy to carry through a full day of walking. It's well suited to quail, dove, grouse, and preserve birds.
