Description

Arsenal calls the SAS M-7 the closest thing you can get to their actual military contract rifle, and after a look at the build sheet it's easy to see why. This SASM7-12 variant is a true limited run with only 100 rifles produced, built around a U.S. made hot die hammer forged milled receiver. That milled construction is the same reason people chase older Bulgarian AKs: it's rigid, it's smooth cycling, and it shrugs off decades of use. The 16.3 inch hammer forged, chrome lined barrel wears 24×1.5mm right hand threads with an AK-74 style front sight block, which was a first for any Arsenal under-folder, and it's capped with a corrosion resistant stainless steel AK-133S flash hider made here in the States.

What Sets the SAS M-7 Apart

The under-folding stock is the modern straight pattern, reinforced to the same standard as the military rifles it's based on, and it drops the folded length down to 27.5 inches for compact storage or transport. Up front you get the AK-022BMR3 polymer handguard with Picatinny rails on three sides, so mounting a light, laser, or vertical grip takes minutes instead of a trip to the gunsmith. The FIME enhanced fire control group gives you a cleaner, lighter pull than a standard AK trigger, and adjustable iron sights handle zeroing duties out of the box. The whole rifle wears a matte black Cerakote finish that adds real corrosion and wear resistance on top of already tough hardware.

A Collector Grade AK Package

Arsenal didn't skimp on the extras either. Each rifle ships with an engraved M-47W 30 round magazine matched to the rifle, plus a cleaning rod, cleaning kit, oil bottle, and AK-340BK black canvas sling, all packed in a premium storage box with CNC machined hard foam inserts. Between the milled receiver, the limited 100 unit run, and the presentation grade packaging, this is the kind of AK that holds its place in a safe just as well as it runs on the range. When these are gone, they're gone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How limited is the Arsenal SAS M-7 SASM7-12?

Arsenal produced only 100 of this specific black Cerakote configuration, and each one ships in a premium storage box with machined foam inserts. That kind of run size puts it firmly in collector territory, and Arsenal's limited editions have a track record of disappearing fast once distributors sell through.

What makes the milled receiver on the SAS M-7 worth it over a stamped AK?

The receiver is machined from a U.S. made hot die hammer forging, which makes it stiffer and generally smoother cycling than a stamped sheet metal receiver. Milled AKs also tend to hold their value better and have that solid, vault-like feel when the action runs. It adds a little weight, but that extra mass helps soak up recoil too.

Can I mount optics and accessories on the SAS M-7?

Yes. The AK-022BMR3 handguard has Picatinny rails on three sides, so lights, lasers, and grips bolt right on. For optics, the rifle comes with adjustable iron sights, and the AK-74 style front sight block keeps the traditional sight picture intact.

Is the under-folding stock on this rifle sturdy enough for regular shooting?

It is. Arsenal reinforced this modern straight under-folder to the same standard used on military contract rifles, so it locks up tight in both positions. Folded, the rifle shrinks to 27.5 inches, which makes storage and transport a lot easier without giving up a usable shoulder stock.
