Description

The Arisaka Defense Offset Scout Mount is one of those small parts that quietly makes a rifle better. It bolts straight to your M-LOK handguard and replaces the stock Picatinny adapter on your scout light, pulling the light in close to the rail instead of letting it hang off a chunky rail section. The result is a slimmer profile, less snag, and a light body that sits right where your thumb wants it.

Why the Arisaka Offset Scout Mount Sits So Low

Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type III hardcoat anodized finish, this mount comes in at less than 0.20 inches thick and weighs next to nothing. When run on the side of an M-LOK rail, it cants the light to a 45 degree angle so the head lands around the 1:30 or 10:30 clock position when oriented up, or 4:30 and 6:30 when flipped down. That angle keeps the beam clear of your suppressor or muzzle device while tucking the whole assembly in tight. It also does a nice job shielding the lens from carbon and gas fouling since the light isn't hanging out in the open.

Dialing In the Fit With the Offset Scout Mount

There are three lateral positions for the light body, spanning about 0.240 inches, so you can nudge the light closer to or farther from the top rail, front sights, or other gear. It's built for the Surefire Scout M300 and M600 series, Modlite PLH and OKW, Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 1, 2 and HL-X (non-laser), Olight Odin, and Arisaka's own 300, 600, and 18650 series bodies. Add the Offset M620 Adapter and it opens up to M620 and M951/952/962 lights too.

It fits most popular M-LOK handguards including the BCM MCMR, KAC URX4, and Geissele SMR MK8/14/16. All the hardware you need to attach the light and the mount is in the box, and it's made in the USA. A quick note from the shop: run a T20 Torx driver, torque the M-LOK screws to 30 inch pounds and the light body screws to 20, and add a dab of medium strength threadlocker so nothing walks loose downrange.

Frequently Asked Questions

What lights work with the Arisaka M-LOK Offset Scout Mount?

It's built for the Surefire Scout M300 and M600 series, Modlite PLH and OKW, Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 1, 2 and HL-X (non-laser), Olight Odin, and Arisaka's 300, 600, and 18650 series light bodies. You'll remove the light's stock Picatinny adapter and bolt it right onto this mount. If you run a Surefire M620 or M951/952/962, you can add the separate Arisaka Offset M620 Adapter to make those fit too.

Will the Offset Scout Mount fit my handguard?

It fits the side M-LOK slots on most popular handguards like the BCM MCMR, KAC URX4, and Geissele SMR MK8/14/16. It's designed around standard M-LOK profiles, so if your rail uses common M-LOK spacing you're generally in good shape. A few specialty handguard profiles use a dedicated Arisaka mount instead, so check your specific rail if it's an odd one.

How does the 45 degree offset actually help?

Canting the light to 45 degrees tucks it in tight against the rail so it's not sticking straight out and catching on gear or your bag. It also keeps the lens more protected from muzzle gas and carbon buildup. With the light oriented up it lands around the 1:30 or 10:30 position, which puts the switch or tape button in easy reach of your support hand.

What tools and torque do I need to install it?

You'll want a T20 Torx or IP20 TorxPlus driver for the mount and light body screws, plus a T9 Torx to pull the stock Picatinny mount off a Surefire Scout light. Torque the M-LOK screws to 30 inch pounds and the light body screws to 20 inch pounds. A dab of medium strength threadlocker keeps everything locked in under recoil.
