Description

The ARIC-M rethinks the guts of your AR-15 by pulling the recoil system out of the buffer tube and tucking it into a redesigned carrier that lives inside the upper receiver. Instead of the usual buffer and spring pushing back from behind, the ARIC-M runs on a pair of guide rod springs and a tail cap, which is what lets the gun cycle whether the stock is folded or locked out. Pair it with a Law Tactical Folding Stock Adapter and you've got a carbine that can be tucked away small for transport and still fired the moment you need it.

Built specifically for the ARIC-M suppressed setup

There are two versions of this carrier floating around, and the M is the one built with a can in mind. It runs 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington suppressed, and it'll also cycle 5.56 NATO unsuppressed if that's how you want to run it. The extra venting machined into the M carrier bleeds off some of the added back pressure a suppressor throws back at the action, so it cycles a touch slower and more controlled than its unsuppressed counterpart. Guys who've run it note the felt recoil drops noticeably once it's dialed in, which makes sense given how the dual spring layout spreads that energy out differently than a standard buffer.

Living with the ARIC-M internal carrier day to day

One of the better parts of this system is that none of it requires tools. Field stripping, cleaning, lubing, even swapping back to a standard BCG if you ever want to, all of it happens by hand. The carrier does use a few pieces you won't find on a normal BCG, namely an enhanced cam pin, firing pin retaining pin, and gas key that Law Tactical designed specifically for this system, so it's best to leave those alone rather than mixing in aftermarket parts. Like any recoil system, the dual guide rod springs and the small plastic bumpers on the tail cap are wear items over time, but Law Tactical built them to hold up right alongside a standard buffer spring's service life, and replacing them takes no tools at all.

Getting the ARIC-M running right

A little extra lube before that first range trip goes a long way, since there's a short break-in period before everything settles into its rhythm. Once it's broken in, most owners report it running clean through mag after mag, folded or extended, suppressed or not. Keep in mind this carrier is meant to work alongside a Law Tactical Folding Stock Adapter rather than a standard buffer tube setup, and while most 5.56 and .223 uppers are a natural fit, .300 Blackout builds should be checked against Law Tactical's compatibility guide first since gas systems on those can vary quite a bit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need anything else installed on my rifle for the ARIC-M to work?

Yes, the ARIC-M is designed to drop in alongside a Law Tactical Folding Stock Adapter, which is sold separately. Without the folding adapter installed, the ARIC-M won't have anywhere to cycle since it relies on that adapter to house the tail cap and manage the springs during recoil.

What's the difference between the ARIC-M and ARIC-C?

The ARIC-M is tuned for suppressed shooting with extra venting that helps it handle the added back pressure from a can, and it can also run unsuppressed with 5.56 NATO. The ARIC-C is built purely for unsuppressed use and cycles a bit faster since it's not accounting for suppressor gas.

Can this run on a .300 Blackout upper?

Most .300 AAC Blackout setups can work with the ARIC system, but gas port sizing and system length vary enough between builds that it's worth checking your specific configuration against Law Tactical's compatibility guide first. 5.56 and .223 Remington uppers are the most straightforward fit.

Do I need any special tools to install or maintain the ARIC-M?

No tools are needed at any point, whether you're installing it, field stripping it for cleaning, or swapping it back out for a standard bolt carrier group. Everything is designed to come apart and go back together by hand.

Can I switch back to a normal BCG later if I want to?

Yes, the ARIC-M is fully backward compatible with standard AR-15 bolt carrier groups and recoil components. You can swap between the two setups without tools whenever you want.

What parts wear out over time on the ARIC-M?

The dual guide rod springs and the small plastic bumpers on the tail cap are the main wear items, similar to how a standard buffer spring eventually wears down from repeated cycling. Law Tactical built these to match or exceed a standard recoil system's service life, and replacing them doesn't require any tools.
