Running a Thunder Beast 338 Ultra on a big magnum is great until you want that same rifle wearing a Sidewinder brake for a match or a practice day. That is exactly the problem this mount solves. The Area 419 Sidewinder Suppressor Mount (419ADT_SW_BA) torques into the rear of your TBAC BA series suppressor and converts it to a direct thread fit for the Sidewinder Universal Adapter on your barrel. From there, going between brake and can takes seconds, with no tools, no shims, and no re-timing anything at the muzzle.
The design is refreshingly simple. Unlike the muzzle brake, the mount does not use a collar. It seats semi-permanently inside the suppressor, and Area 419 recommends a drop of blue Loctite on the external threads to keep it there. The left hand threads on the Universal Adapter side are a clever touch, since they work against the removal direction and keep the can from loosening while you spin things on and off. The mount rides on the same tapered interface the Sidewinder brake uses, so alignment with the bore stays consistent shot after shot, and the compact footprint adds very little length to an already long magnum setup.

No, the Universal Adapter is sold separately. This mount is the piece that threads into your TBAC suppressor, and it mates with a Sidewinder Universal Adapter already installed on your muzzle. If your barrel does not have one yet, you will need to pick that up to complete the system.
This version fits the TBAC BA series thread pattern, which covers the 338 Ultra, 338BA, and 30BA. If you run one of the CB series cans like the Ultra 5, 7, or 9, Area 419 makes a separate Sidewinder mount for those, so double check which family your suppressor belongs to before ordering.
That is the idea. Area 419 recommends a bit of blue Loctite on the external threads so the mount stays put in the can semi-permanently. Even without it, the left hand threads on the adapter side oppose the removal direction, so if the mount ever backs out with the suppressor you can separate the two easily.
The Sidewinder system uses a tapered locking surface similar to a machine tool spindle, which gives excellent alignment and repeatable lockup.
