If you've fought with factory-style set-screw bases that creep out of zero over time, this is the fix. Area 419 built the CZ455 1913 Improved Scope Rail to slide onto the 11mm dovetail and clamp down with even pressure across the whole length, so it locks in place and stays there. It's machined from a single piece of 7075 aluminum on a Haas multi-axis CNC and finished in Type III black hardcoat anodizing, which is the tough, wear-resistant coating you want on a part that sees regular ring swaps and range time.
The 15 MOA of built-in cant is the sweet spot for a lot of rimfire precision folks who want extra elevation for dialing subsonic .22 LR out past 100 yards without running out of adjustment in the scope. Area 419 also added length to the front of the rail, which gives you room to slide your optic forward. That extra real estate helps when you're running a bigger scope on the short stock that's common on rimfire guns, so you can still get a comfortable eye position.
There's a bubble level machined into the rear of the base, and the material is flared out around it so you get a clean view of it from the prone position without lifting your head off the stock. A built-in recoil lug at the rear creates a mechanical stop, adding another layer of security beyond the clamp itself. The rail sits a touch taller than typical set-screw bases, adding roughly a half inch of height over the dovetail, so pairing it with lower rings keeps your bore-to-scope height and cheek weld right where you want them.
This base is cut specifically for the CZ455, and it also works on the CZ452 with the exception of the 452 American, which uses a different dovetail. Installation is straightforward with the included 2.5mm wrench, torqued to 22 in-lbs. It ships as a solid-top rail rather than a slotted center, so you get a continuous, rigid mounting surface for your rings.
Yes, this rail works on the CZ452 as well as the CZ455, since they share the same 11mm dovetail. The one exception is the CZ452 American model, which uses a different dovetail and is not compatible. If you're unsure which 452 you have, measuring the dovetail is the safest way to confirm.
The base sits about a half inch taller than typical set-screw dovetail mounts, so you generally do not need a riser. Pairing it with lower-height rings lets you keep a similar bore-to-scope height and a comfortable cheek weld. If you're running a large-objective scope, factor that clearance into your ring choice.
The 15 MOA cant gives you extra elevation for shooting past 100 yards while leaving plenty of usable adjustment for closer targets and zeroing. The 30 MOA version leans toward guys pushing their rimfire way out to 300 yards and beyond. For most mixed-distance precision and plinking work, 15 MOA is the more versatile pick.
Instead of relying on a couple of set screws biting into the dovetail, this base slides on and clamps down with even pressure across its full length. That spreads the holding force out and keeps the rail from creeping under recoil or over time. A machined recoil lug at the rear adds a mechanical stop for extra insurance.
