The M1A is a rifle a lot of folks love to shoot but wish handled a little more like a modern platform. That's exactly the gap the ProMag Archangel M1A Close Quarters Stock fills. Built from a proprietary carbon fiber reinforced polymer, it drops your Springfield Armory M1A or M14 into a lighter, more compact package that swings faster and points quicker, without you having to buy a whole new rifle. The stock tips the scales at right around 2.8 pounds, so you get all the added features without weighing down the front end.
The headliner here is the collapsible six-position buttstock, which adjusts your length of pull anywhere from 11.5 to 14.5 inches. That range makes it easy to dial in a comfortable fit whether you're shooting in a heavy jacket or handing the rifle off to someone with shorter arms. The anti-snag rubber recoil pad takes the sting out of .308 and keeps things from catching on your gear or sling when you shoulder up. There's also a removable pistol grip with a locking storage compartment, plus extra storage in the buttstock for batteries, cleaning oil, or other small odds and ends you want to keep close.
ProMag didn't skimp on mounting points. You get two standard sling studs, one in the forend and one in the buttstock, along with five embedded steel flush-cup QD hardpoints spread across the forend, above the grip on each side, and on the toe of the buttstock. That gives you real flexibility for running a two-point, single-point, or side-mounted sling depending on how you shoot. The precision-fit inlet is designed as a drop-in upgrade, so it seats cleanly for solid accuracy potential.
Made in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty, this is a straightforward way to modernize a rifle that already has a lot going for it. If you've been eyeing a more tactical setup for your M1A, the Archangel Close Quarters Stock gets you there.
Yes. This stock is designed for both the Springfield Armory M1A and the M14. It uses a precision-fit inlet meant to drop in cleanly for a secure, accurate seat.
The collapsible six-position buttstock adjusts the length of pull from 11.5 to 14.5 inches. That gives you plenty of room to fit different body types, shooting positions, or heavier clothing without any tools.
You've got two standard sling studs, one in the forend and one in the buttstock, plus five embedded steel flush-cup QD hardpoints. Those QD points sit on the forend, on each side above the pistol grip, and on the toe of the buttstock, so you can run just about any sling setup you like.
The pistol grip is removable and includes a locking storage compartment for small parts. It's also interchangeable with AK-47 style grips, so you can swap in a grip that fits your hand and shooting style.
