The Mosin-Nagant is a rugged old warhorse, but that heavy log of a wood stock never did the rifle any favors when it came to fit or accuracy. The Archangel OPFOR Precision Stock changes that in a big way. It's a drop-in chassis molded from a proprietary carbon-fiber and glass reinforced polymer, finished in a clean desert tan, and it turns a surplus bolt gun into something you'll actually want to shoot all afternoon. Fitment covers most M1891 rifles along with the hex and round receivers on the 91/30, the M-38, M-44, and Chinese T-53 carbines. The Finnish M-39 will fit too, though it takes some minor modification.
This is where the OPFOR earns its keep. The precision inlet comes with steel pillar bedding already installed, so the receiver sits at a consistent, locked-in position every time you torque it down. Pillar bedding is normally a gunsmith job that costs real money, and here it's built in. The forend free-floats most barrel contours and includes an adjustable barrel tensioner, so you can run the barrel completely floated or dial in a little upward pressure to tune harmonics for your specific rifle.
One of the biggest complaints about the original Mosin was the awkward, short length of pull and no way to get behind a scope. The OPFOR fixes both. Length of pull adjusts with a thumbwheel across a range you can click into place, and the cheek riser raises in .05 inch increments with 1.75 inches of total travel, which is exactly what you need to get your eye lined up behind a magnified optic. The gooseneck pistol grip has ambidextrous palm swells and a rubber buttpad to soak up that legendary 7.62x54R recoil.
The stock feeds from a detachable box magazine, so no more fumbling with stripper clips or awkward reloads under a scope. Three integral steel inserts accept QD sling swivels, and there's a lockable storage compartment tucked into the grip for small accessories. It's also pre-inletted to accept a Timney Trigger with no gunsmithing, and a blanking piece is included if you keep the factory trigger. The whole thing weighs in around 3.6 pounds and is made in the USA.

The steel pillar bedding is already installed at the factory, so you skip that gunsmithing step entirely. Just make sure your action screws are torqued consistently for the best accuracy.
