The Archangel AA500 is a full stock-and-forend package built to modernize the Mossberg 500 and 590, along with compatible clones chambered in 12 gauge. Instead of the factory fixed stock, you get a six-position collapsible buttstock that adjusts from 11 to 14.25 inches of length of pull, so a big guy in a heavy coat and a smaller-framed shooter can both run the same gun comfortably. The whole system is molded from a carbon fiber and glass reinforced polymer that shrugs off weather and stands up to the usual gun solvents and oils, and the complete setup only tips the scale around 2.5 pounds.
The textured pistol grip is the heart of the upgrade. It gives you a more natural, controlled hold on the gun and hides a locking internal storage compartment for small essentials. Up top, the teardrop-shaped extension tube gives you a clean cheek weld for bead or barrel-mounted sights, and if you run raised irons or an optic, the included cheek riser snaps on for proper alignment.
