Angstadt Arms built its name on the UDP-9, and this complete upper puts the same guts from that pistol into a package you can bolt onto a lower you already own. It's a compact 6-inch 9mm setup designed to run right out of the box, so there's no headspacing, no gunsmithing, and no chasing down loose parts. Pair it with any dedicated 9mm AR lower and you're ready for the range.
The heart of this thing is a 6-inch lightweight-profile barrel cut from 4150 chrome-moly steel with a 1:10 twist and a black nitride finish. That short barrel keeps the whole platform nimble and handy, which is exactly what you want out of a pistol-caliber build. It wears an A2-style flash suppressor on 1/2×28 threads, so swapping muzzle devices down the road is simple. The upper receiver itself is 7075-T6 billet aluminum with a slick-side design, no forward assist or dust cover cluttering things up.
Up front sits Angstadt's ultralight 5.5-inch free-float M-LOK handguard with mounting slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, plus a continuous mil-spec 1913 top rail and QD swivel points for a sling. The last stretch of the handguard is bored out wider, which lets most suppressors under 1.39 inches in diameter tuck neatly inside. Charging duties are handled by a Radian Weapons ambidextrous charging handle, a genuine upgrade over a standard mil-spec latch and a nice touch for lefties and righties alike.
This upper feeds from both GLOCK and Colt style 9mm magazines when matched with the right lower, which gives you real flexibility depending on the mags you already stock. The black nitride 9mm bolt carrier group runs with a standard AR-15 hammer, so most quality PCC lowers will play nice with it. It's a clean way to add a 9mm host to your collection without building an upper from scratch.
