When you mount a red dot on a Glock or run a suppressor, standard iron sights disappear below your line of sight. The AmeriGlo GL815 solves that with a 3XL suppressor-height design that raises the whole sight picture so you can co-witness through most slide-mounted optics and see over a can. It runs a green tritium front dot and two green tritium rear dots, all wearing a clean black outline with no distracting paint, so your eye goes straight to the glowing reference points when the light drops.
Think of these as a safety net that also does day-to-day work. If your red dot ever fails, fogs up, or the battery dies, you still have a full set of usable irons lined up right under the window. The tall geometry co-witnesses nicely with Glock MOS slides and popular optic footprints like the Holosun 407/507/508T, Trijicon RMR and SRO, and EOTech EFLX. The tritium is Swiss made and glows on its own without needing a charge, so they're ready any time of day or night.
The set is CNC machined from steel with a matte black finish, so it holds up to holster wear and hard use. Up front you get a .365 inch tall blade, and the rear stands .451 inch tall with a .150 inch square notch, which is the right height range to clear suppressors and co-witness a mounted dot on Gen 4 and Gen 5 MOS pistols. It covers a wide swath of the Glock lineup across Gen 1 through Gen 5, with the exception of the 42, 43, 43X, and 48.

No. The green tritium inserts are self-luminous and glow on their own without any battery, charging, or exposure to light. Swiss-made tritium gives you a consistent low-light reference the moment you draw.
Many people do install these at home, though a proper sight pusher tool makes the job much cleaner and safer for the slide. The rear dovetails in and the front typically uses the standard Glock front sight screw. If you're not comfortable pressing sights, a gunsmith can knock it out in a few minutes.
