Description

Anyone who runs a can knows the drill. A few mags in and that suppressor is hot enough to brand you, melt your sling, or put a shimmering mirage right across your optic. The Amend2 Hi-Temp Suppressor Cover takes care of all three problems with a dual-layer fiberglass and silicone inner sleeve rated to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit. That sleeve slows heat transfer to the outside of the cover, so you can transition to your pistol, shoot off a barricade, or case up your rifle at the end of the day without waiting around for the can to cool.

Built Around a 1000D Cordura Shell

The outer layer is 1000D Cordura nylon, the same heavy-duty fabric you find on quality packs and plate carriers. It shrugs off abrasion from concrete, rocks, and truck beds, and the water-repellent finish resists fading and mildew so the cover keeps looking right after seasons of hard use. Retention comes from Nomex hook-and-loop straps that hold their grip even when things get toasty, backed by a metal tri-glide buckle with a friction-lock design. Cinch it down once and it stays put through recoil, vibration, and long strings of fire without walking or rotating on the tube.

Sizing the Amend2 Suppressor Cover

This version fits suppressors up to 1.5 inches in diameter and around 4.5 inches long, which covers most compact rifle cans and shorter rimfire and pistol-caliber suppressors. Amend2 also makes 6 inch and 7.5 inch versions, so measure your can before ordering and pick the length that matches. At roughly a third of a pound, it adds next to nothing to the end of your barrel.

A Smart Add-On for Any Can

A suppressor is a serious investment, and a cover is cheap insurance. Beyond the burn protection, it cuts down the heat mirage that can wreck a sight picture during precision work, and it guards the finish on your can against dings and scratches. One note from the manufacturer worth passing along: this cover is built for practical sustained fire, not mag dumps or extended full auto strings, which generate more heat than any fabric cover is meant to handle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Amend2 Hi-Temp Suppressor Cover fit my can?

This size is made for suppressors up to 1.5 inches in diameter and about 4.5 inches in length, which fits most compact rifle, rimfire, and pistol-caliber cans. Amend2 also offers 6 inch and 7.5 inch versions for longer suppressors. Measure your can's diameter and length before ordering so you get a snug fit.

How hot can this suppressor cover handle?

The dual-layer fiberglass and silicone inner sleeve is rated to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit, which handles the heat from normal sustained semi-auto shooting just fine. That said, Amend2 does not recommend it for mag dumps or high-volume full auto fire, since those generate extreme heat that can damage the cover and even the suppressor itself. For typical range days, hunting, and training, it has plenty of margin.

Does the cover slip or rotate on the suppressor during firing?

No, and that is one of its strong points. The Nomex hook-and-loop straps keep their grip even at high temperatures, and the metal tri-glide buckle uses a friction-lock design that holds tension through recoil and vibration. Cinch it down properly when you install it and it stays where you put it.

Why use a suppressor cover at all?

Three big reasons: burn protection, mirage reduction, and finish protection. A hot can will scorch your hand, melt a sling or rifle case, and throw wavy mirage across your optic during precision shooting. A cover like this one manages the heat so you can handle and case your rifle sooner, and it also shields the suppressor's finish from scratches and dings.
