American Defense went further with the UIC MOD2, machining a billet upper and lower from scratch around their patented control layout. A Surefire Warcomp is pinned and welded up front to bring the package to 16 inches overall, and it doubles as a mount for Surefire suppressors down the road. ADM skipped the usual budget filler. You get a Geissele G2S two-stage trigger, a Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, a nitride QPQ bolt carrier group, and Magpul MOE furniture with an MOE SL stock on ADM's own 10-position buffer tube with their HD buffer. A tension adjustment screw snugs up the fit between the billet receivers, the flared mag well speeds up reloads, and the M-LOK handguard leaves plenty of room for lights and accessories.

Yes, it's a 14.5 inch hand-lapped Criterion barrel with the Surefire Warcomp permanently pinned and welded to the muzzle, which brings the overall length to 16 inches. You get the quicker handling of the shorter barrel in a standard rifle configuration. There's nothing extra to do on your end.
Both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO feed and fire safely in a .223 Wylde chamber. The Wylde spec splits the difference between the two, so you get 5.56 pressure tolerance with tighter, match-grade accuracy. The 1:8 twist handles bullet weights from 55 to 77 grains well.
The billet upper and lower are machined from the ground up around ADM's patented ambidextrous layout rather than retrofitted. That means a right-side bolt catch and release, a left-side magazine release, and an ambi safety, all reachable without breaking your grip.
